Workplace Burnout
Burnout is one of the most common causes of stress and anxiety in today’s fast paced culture. A study by Deloitte found that 77% of employees experience burnout at their current job. From high pressure workloads to the general overwhelm of parenthood or the expectation to be available and online 24/7, Mind and Body Counseling Associates works with patients to help with burnout. We provide tools and guidance for managing stress, developing better boundaries, and finding a more peaceful, manageable pace moving forward.
You’ve probably heard various ways high achievers manage career or workplace burnout, from exercise, meditation, to a change in diet. But often, it comes down to time, as all of these tools require time and consistency to be effective. That is why we encourage our patients to start at the root level, understanding what most triggers your stress, trimming the extracurriculars for you or your family that aren’t serving you, and learning how to say ‘no’ without burning bridges.

What You Want Versus What You Don’t
The word boundaries floods our feeds these days and for good reason. Setting boundaries is an important, effective way to care for your mental health and wellbeing. We have seen some of the greatest stressors and causes of burnout result from inconsistent or underdeveloped boundaries by patients. In fact, a lack of boundaries in your job creates one of the leading causes of workplace burnout, as so many of us strive to stay on call for our jobs on nights and weekends – long after we logged off our computers.
Mind and Body works to help you draw more clear lines between what you want and need, versus what you don’t. It establishes where your responsibility begins and ends, where various relationships can and cannot go, and where your influence starts and stops. Healthy boundaries lead to improved mental and emotional health, improved self-confidence and overcoming personal or workplace burnout.
In our world of one-click purchases, live streaming, constant texts and all-consuming social media, finding a slower, more achievable pace is not only important, it’s necessary for long term health.
Our human brains are not designed for the constant stimulation and endless access to each other at our fingertips. And while this fast pace is not changing anytime soon, Mind and Body will work with you to find a solution, strategies, and goals so you can thrive and overcome even the most challenging personal or workplace burnout.
